The Cities Urban Agricultural Network is a national network of urban agricultural pioneers. It creates a space to exchange information, encourage one another to develop policies and to take advantage of opportunities. There is much interest in collaborative work within urban agriculture, but it frequently lacks coherence and clear direction. Because of this, well-meaning initiatives do not always come to development. Each pioneer engaged in urban agriculture, be it civil servant, entrepreneur or citizen, seem to be reinventing the wheel: which rules should my initiative have? Where can I develop? Who has the necessary knowledge? How can I facilitate initiatives? The network aims to bring together these versatile pioneers and work with them to promote the development of urban agriculture in the Netherlands together.
